Hanging on by a Thread June 10th, 2014

Took a trip down to Miami Beach for dinner Saturday night. There is always a guarantee that I will find some interesting material for paintings. Photo shoot took place outside the Yardbird restaurant, which has very interesting Southern dishes and a great atmosphere.
This is part of my Freedom Rider Series, notice how the girl is holding the dog, by it’s tail.

UpWorldly Mobile June 5th, 2014

Spotted this couple on a road trip heading out of Chicago. For such a little dog and little car (Mini Cooper) they left a big impression.

Bathing Beauties One June 2nd, 2014

Stalked these two at the Jupiter Dog Beach. I have to say I really enjoy the Chartreuse underpainting popping through. Now I’ll have to experiment with some other intense colors.

Dare Ya! May 19th, 2014

I was invited to photograph a party of ten dogs. This group of dogs are being trained as Guide Dogs and they will eventually be placed with a blind person. Some were leaving for college level training, one was retiring and being replaced by another dog who attended. It was also someones birthday!
I just can’t imagine training one of these dogs for a year and then having to let it go : (
The trainers said it is VERY VERY difficult.

$15 Dollars will be donated to C.A.T. Canine Assistant Therapy

MUSH Face! May 18th, 2014

I met this guy many many years ago and I painted him probably over 7 years ago. I sold that painting and he has always been on my mind, so TADA here he is. Challenging little creature, many folds, interesting coloring in his coat.

Hot To Trot! May 15th, 2014

I saw this guy at the Jupiter Dog Beach in FL, which is by far the best Dog Beach around. This runt was having a great time with his ball. The ball was bright orange, but I took my Artistic License to change it to green because it seemed to stand out better.

Cannonballer May 12th, 2014

Cannonballer!
I met Jolly Saturday when I was introduced to nine Labs and one Golden who are Working Dogs or in the process of being trained for this very important job. The volunteers do some SERIOUS training with these dogs for close to a year. The dogs are then tested and if they pass they go to a more INTENSIVE level of training and if they pass, they are placed with someone who is blind. AWESOME!!
